The TBA is a voluntary, invitation only organization. All members agree to follow a strict code of ethics. Our breeders are committed to:
-
Health testing and screening, to ensure as much as possible the health of the breeding pair;
-
Sound nutritional practices for healthy development and healthy litters;
-
Accurate and thorough record keeping to provide documentation of the soundness of our breeding practices and monitor the effectiveness of our health screening and testing protocols;
-
Continuing breeder education to ensure that our members are kept up to date on the latest in good breeding practices, vaccination protocols, reproductive health, puppy growth, and development to name a few;
Our members have a variety of interests and serve as mentors to others in our organization. Some of our breeders specialize in therapy dogs, service dogs, and other "jobs" and provide guidance and assistance to members interested in meeting these special needs. We plan to develop a health database to ensure that we are on top of potential health problems and other issues. Through connections that our members have with other breeds we plan to participate in canine research and development and work toward recognition of the Aatu Tamaskan as a separate and distinct breed.
